My Story
My name is Alex Halstead, and I am the Case Manager at Spectrum of Hope in Tomball, Texas. I graduated from Dillard University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice. During my time at Dillard, I was able to join Brothers Empowered to Teach and became their 1st Original Bruh. Being in their fellowship program gave me my first experience with tutoring and mentoring young students in K-8th schools throughout the city of New Orleans. After graduating from Dillard University and successfully completing my process with BE2T I went on to become a teacher for the next 4 years at various schools throughout the greater New Orleans area. I am now working with young students who have special needs with autism which has allowed me to serve in education in a different capacity from traditional teaching.
